What Kansas City businesses and independent drivers should know before sending a request.
For businesses
What area do you serve?+
The working service area is the Kansas City metro on both the Missouri and Kansas sides, including Kansas City, Independence, Lee's Summit, the Northland, Overland Park, Olathe, Lenexa, Shawnee, and nearby communities. Final availability depends on the route and timing.
What types of delivery can I request?+
The first service offering covers same-day point-to-point runs, scheduled recurring routes, multi-stop business delivery, local order fulfillment, parts, supplies, and documents.
How fast will I receive a quote?+
Submit the request with complete route and package details. The dispatch team will review it and follow up using your preferred contact method. A response-time guarantee is not offered in this first version.
Can you handle medical, hazardous, or controlled materials?+
Not through the standard request form. Do not submit regulated, hazardous, controlled, temperature-sensitive, or biohazard material until the business confirms the required licensing, training, insurance, and chain-of-custody procedures.
Does submitting a quote request schedule the delivery?+
No. A request is not booked until Heartland Mile confirms availability, pricing, route details, and acceptance.
For drivers
Are drivers employees?+
The planned network is for independent courier contractors, not employees. Each driver is responsible for understanding their tax, insurance, vehicle, and legal obligations.
What vehicles can apply?+
Reliable cars, SUVs, minivans, cargo vans, and pickup trucks may fit different routes. Vehicle needs vary by package and client.
Does applying guarantee work?+
No. An application is an expression of interest. Route opportunities depend on eligibility, business demand, location, vehicle fit, performance, and availability.
What happens after I apply?+
The dispatch team reviews your information and may contact you for verification, screening, onboarding details, or next steps. Never send sensitive identity documents unless you are using a verified secure process.
